Live Earth Notes, part 4

Wow, what an awesome finale to the Live Earth event! THE POLICE - and they played my favorite song of theirs, “Can’t Stand Losing You” along with “Roxanne” and it was amazing to see John Mayer hop onstage with them and play the intro, and help play the rest of “Message In A Bottle” where the message of ’sending out an SOS’ was very appropriate for this event. SOS has been a running theme throughout the day. Rihanna performed her song by that name too.

Al Gore ’s speech at the end was short but sweet. Answer that call! Go to the Live Earth website and take that pledge.

If they actually used “SOS” I’d agree with you. What Live Earth broadcast was actually “STTTS” not “SOS”.

How they could make such a basic mistake I just don’t know. Verbally, SOS in Morse sounds like “dididit dahdahdah dididit”, but the Live Earth audio sounded like “dididit dah dah dah dididit”, a completely meaningless phrase in morse.

It was such a basic mistake that it would be similar to spelling the name “Alf Gore”, or calling the event “Live Moon”

I know it’s pedantic, but when you’re being watched by 2 billion people, then you’d better get it right!
