My Post on Compost

I have been wanting to purchase a CompostTumbler for a couple of years now. I just couldn’t see spending all that money on something that I would be filling with dead leaves and food scraps.

My solution was to use a plastic dog crate that my puppy had outgrown. I was just in the yard, rolling it around and watching all that beautiful compost sift out through the air holes. The sticks didn’t break down to well, but everything else did and I’m very pleased, except for the amount of time it took to get a nice batch of compost. The CompostTumbler can often produce a ready batch of compost in 14 days. Mine took way longer than that.
