Wow! I came across this eco-friendly directory when I was searching for animal rights groups in my area. Check out www.greenpeople.org for lots of great information and a list of places that carry environmentally friendly products and supplies.

Friday, May 18th is Bike-to-Work Day. Those of you who are able should partake of this observance. If you don’t work, then I guess you’re off the hook.

Check out this site http://greenfestivals.org/ for information on upcoming Green Festivals in Washington DC, San Francisco and Seattle. Chicago hosted a Green Festival in February and there were over 31,000 people in attendance.

It’s that time of year when the new phone books are issued. Please recycle your old phone book instead of throwing it in the trash. I wish there was a way the company could pick up old used phone books at the same time they are delivering the new ones. It can be a pain finding a recycling point for used phone books. You can’t usually mix them in with your newspapers in most areas.

Our local news here in the DC Metro Region has a segment called Going Green which I think is absolutely wonderful. Check out their site for lots of great information, and check to see if the local news in your area has something similar. If not, you might suggest it to them.
